Quick Start Guide

To quickly get started using MileageTracker Pro on your wireless handheld device, this guide will show you the basic features of MileageTracker Pro using brief examples.

Categories

MileageTracker Pro comes with 3 default categories - Business, Personal, and Other. These are just to get you started, and we encourage you to build your own set of categories so your trips are simple for you to manage and meet your usage needs.

Creating a Category

  1. From the MileageTracker Pro worksheet (main screen that show when the application loads), ensure the cursor is on a trip item, or the category button (upper right corner), and open the options menu.
  2. Select the Preferences option.
  3. Select the Edit Categories option.
  4. Open category options (cursor position does not matter).
  5. Select Add from the menu that appears.
  6. Type in the name of your new category.
  7. Press the scroll wheel in to open options.
  8. Select the Ok option.
  9. Your will receive an alert confirming the addition of your new trip category.
Editing a Category name
  1. From the MileageTracker Pro worksheet (main screen that shows when the application loads), ensure the cursor is on a trip item, or the category button (upper right corner), and open the options menu.
  2. Select the Preferences option.
  3. Select the Edit Categories option.
  4. Highlight the Category you would like to edit.
  5. Open category options (cursor position does not matter).
  6. Select Edit from the menu.
  7. Make your changes to the Category title.
  8. Open the options menu.
  9. Select the Ok option.
  10. You will receive an alert confirming the addition of your new trip Category.
Using your new Category
  1. From the MileageTracker Pro worksheet (main screen that shows when the application loads), select a cell that is in the row of the Trip you would like to Categorize.
  2. Open the options menu.
  3. Select Categorize from the menu that appears.
  4. Select the Category you would like to associate to your trip.
  5. Open the options menu.
  6. Select Ok from the menu that appears.
  7. You will receive an alert confirming the trip is categorized.

Trip Items

Track and update your trips as they occur with MileageTracker Pro. This ensures accurate records and prompt reimbursement.

Adding a Trip

  1. From the MileageTracker Pro worksheet (main screen that shows when the application loads), ensure the cursor is on a trip item, or the category button (upper right corner), and open the options menu.
  2. Click the Add option.
  3. Fill in any 2 of the first 3 fields which are related to odometer and distance readings - Start Odometer, end odometer, and distance. MileageTracker Pro will automatically calculate the missing field.
  4. The next series of fields - Person, Location, Reason, and Notes - are open for you to fill in as you like so it is easy to track saved trips.
  5. Open the options menu.
  6. Select Ok.
Editing a Trip
  1. From the MileageTracker Pro worksheet (main screen that shows when the application loads), select the cell that contains the information you would like to edit.
  2. Open the options menu.
  3. Select the Edit from the menu that appears.
  4. Edit the details you need.
  5. To save your changes, open the options menu.
  6. Select Ok from the menu that appears.

Managing Trips

Report and archive your trips to stay organized, and track your reimbursements. From your wireless handheld device, e-mail all your trip claims, and they are automatically archived for you and ready for reimbursement.

Submitting/Archiving Trips

  1. From the MileageTracker Pro worksheet (main screen that shows when the application loads), ensure the cursor is on a trip item, or the category button (upper right corner), and open the options menu.
  2. Select Email Report from the menu that appears.
  3. Type the e-mail address of the person it is from in the From field. If you have previously entered an address here, it will be remembered.
  4. Type the e-mail address of the person it is being sent to in the To field. If you have previously entered an address here, it will be remembered.
  5. Optional choice of also including a custom message in the Message field, which will appear in the body of the e-mail.
  6. Press the scroll wheel in to open options.
  7. Select Ok in the menu that appears.
